Voices by the Sea yell "Knock on, ref!"
Greystones RFC to host Voices by the Sea choir festival on June 30.
Greystones RFC are kicking their musical rivals into touch on Saturday June 30.
More used to hoisting players for the lineout than hosting players for a concert, Greystones Rugby Club are nonetheless giving it all in the scrum.
“Voices by the Sea” is a day of choir music from all over Ireland, starting at noon and presumably ending at the ref’s whistle. With multiple stages and a variety of styles on offer, Voices by the Sea aims to put Greystones on the summer festival map. A community event for the picturesque town, nestling under the ample cleavage of the Wicklow hills with beaches and views of the sea, VBTS offers a wide range of activities for locals and visitors alike.
Acts so far confirmed include the Hallelujah Gospel Choir, Ireland Unlimited, Galway Tribal Choir, Dublin Welsh Male Voice Choir, Cantóirí, Third Day Chorale and many others.
Along with the choral headliners, a vast array of amusements and attractions have also been promised. A host of local sport clubs will be on hand for demonstrations and challenges, aspiring sporting legends take note. There’s a dog show, a vintage rally and a hot air balloon. Full catering is provided.
Tickets are €10 per adult and €5 per child and are available from Greystones RFC, here, and at the gate.
