Junior Brother has released the live video for ‘New Road’.
The Irish folk singer-songwriter has released the video ‘New Road - Live In Unit 1’, which was filmed and edited by filmmaker Myles O'Reilly and recorded and mixed by Steven Rahaman.
The video of the live version of the closing track from Junior Brother's record The End also features Jack Duffy on the uileann pipes, keyboardist Phil Christie, drummer Brendan Doherty, and mandolin player Tony McLoughlin.
Released last September, The End is Junior Brother's third studio album.
"The sound of the album is supposed to take the organic instruments of Irish traditional music and lift them somewhere else, like the otherworldly Irish music sometimes heard from Fairy Forts at twilight on country roads, impossible to recreate upon hearing," said the singer.
"I delved into the manuscripts - endless eyewitness accounts of Fairy Forts being stepped into and the land altering, the familiar mutating. Farmers, teachers, the sober, the smart - all losing their way home one way or the other."
The Co. Kerry artist is heading out on an Irish tour next month, performing at Belfast's Ulster Sports Club on May 6 and 7, Leitrim's Dock Theatre on May 8, and Waterford's Phil Grimes on May 15.
Junior Brother's Irish tour also includes dates in Dun Laoghaire's Pavilion Theatre on May 16, Listowel's Mike The Pies on May 21, and May 22 at Connolly's Of Leap in Cork.
