Villagers top Indie charts yet again!

Villagers' beautiful Becoming a Jackal sits once again at the top of the Indie charts. The album debuted at the top spot three weeks ago, while also reaching the top of the Irish chart that week - no mean feat!

While Cathy Davey's The Nameless is still riding high (it's at No. 3 this week) The Divine Comedy's latest offering Bang Goes the Knighthood has entered the chart at a very impressive No. 2. This is Neil Hannon's first album with the band since his collaboration with Pugwash's Thomas Walsh - in the form of 'The Duckworth Lewis Method'. The pair were nominated for an Ivor Novello award for their self-titled album.

Likewise, Dubliners The Rags are a new entry in the chart this week. Their debut album A National Light, is at No. 12 today. Read an interview with the band in the latest issue of Hot Press.

Elsewhere, UK hip-hop artist Dizzee Rascal's Tongue 'N Cheek re-enters the chart this week at No. 9. Originally released last September, Dizzee re-released the album last week to include new material. A smart move it would seem, as its latest track 'Dirtee Disco', released on May 24, went to the top of the UK singles chart.
