Villagers announce Iveagh Gardens headline show
All three of Villagers' upcoming Vicar Street shows have been cancelled due to the new restrictions.
Following the release of their acclaimed fifth studio album, Fever Dreams, earlier this year, Villagers will play a headline show at Iveagh Gardens in Dublin on July 14.
Unfortunately, the announcement coincides with news that Conor O'Brien & Co.'s three sold-out Vicar Street dates this month (Dec 11, 12 & 13) have been cancelled, due to the newly introduced Covid-19 restrictions. All tickets will be refunded.
In an interview with Hot Press earlier this year, Conor expressed his excitement about returning to gigs.
“The main focus now is getting gig-ready,” he said. “I can feel the creative push of the band already trying to move the songs from Fever Dreams on a little bit more, which is very exciting. We’ll have a lot of that to play with, when we’re touring.”
Tickets for the Iveagh Gardens gig are €40, and will go on sale this Friday, December 10, at 9am, from Ticketmaster. Villagers will be joined on the day by special guests, who have yet to be announced.
Back in September, Conor joined us for a special night in The Grand Social, Dublin, as we celebrated Villagers' Choice Music Prize-winning second album, {Awayland}, as part of the Up Close and Personal series. Revisit photos from the night here.
