Viagra Boys' Benjamin Vallé dies aged 47
The band asked fans to "raise your glasses" for Vallé because "it's what he'd have wanted."
Benjamin Vallé, one of the founding members of Swedish punk band Viagra Boys, has died, aged 47.
On Instagram, the band posted a statement on October 27 announcing Vallé's passing, writing: "Benjamin was loving and kind and the sweet memories we have together are countless. I can't stop crying while going through pictures of you but also laughing because you were one of the funniest, goofiest, people I had the pleasure of knowing."
"Benjamin or 'benis' as we knew him, spread laughter and happiness wherever he went and I will cherish the memories we have of touring the world together," the statement continued.
Vallé was described as "one [of] the good ones" and someone who "Viagra Boys would have been nothing without."
"I hope you're somewhere up in space telling bad jokes to an alien," said the band. "Goodnight my sweet boy. I'll love you forever. Raise your glasses for benis. It's what he'd have wanted."
Fellow band member Sebastian Murphy also paid tribute to Vallé on Instagram, writing in Swedish that he'd "see [him] in the cosmos."
Vallé's cause of death is unknown at this time.
