Until Spring
Strong debut from indie revivalists
Taking all the right elements from ’80s indie and ’90s alt. rock, Until Spring by Londoners Wild Palms is full of soaring choruses, serrated guitars and hooks aplenty, that just might make them (whisper it) the next big thing. Sounding a bit like Head On The Door-era Cure (only with a meatier musical approach) their debut is at times a little self-indulgent, but as long as they have the nightmarish lullaby that is ‘LHC’ and the monstrous ‘Caretaker’ under their sleeves, we’re more than willing to forgive them the odd folly. A genuinely exciting and emotive release, Until Spring is an extremely strong-sounding debut and it could have a huge impact over the year ahead.
