UK industry invade Dublin for showcase weekend
The Hard Working Class Heroes festival proved to be a huge success, with full houses for virtually all of the Dublin city centre showcases.
According to our industry deep throat, The Rags were given the once-over by Sony UK and Patrick Freyne caught the ear of a prominent UK publisher.
Also in town were Chrysalis and V2 who were very impressed with Jape’s non-HWCH gig in Crawdaddy.
Other bands attracting both domestic and cross-channel interest were D.C. Pakt who are recording a new single for Ken Allen’s Faction Records, the wonderfully spiky Sickboy and Delorentos (pictured) who’ve decided to record their album independently and see who bites.
Judging by the size of the crowd for their Temple Bar Music Centre show, we reckon there’ll be no shortage of takers.
