Throwing Shapes have released their self-titled debut album.
The band pairs 18th century wire-strung harp with modular synthesis and brushed percussion.
The trio, consisting of Méabh McKenna, Ross Chaney and Gareth Quinn Redmond, met in 2023.
Between the three, they have had previous album credits and live contributions for artists including John Francis Flynn, Villagers, Aoife Nessa Frances, Ye Vagabonds and Maija Sofia.
Most of the band's music was guided by the Mullaghmast harp, a replica of what would have played in Ireland in the 1700s.
“I am drawn to honouring and bringing forth the potentials of now, and what is alive and exciting about music making in Ireland," said McKenna.
