U2 plan Achtung Baby & Zooropa re-releases

U2 are to give the deluxe reissue treatment later this year to their classic Achtung Baby and Zooropa albums.
Talking to Rolling Stone magazine, The Edge says of the former: “I’m blown away listening to some of the rough mixes and the outtakes. There’s some very interesting alternative versions that we discovered of songs that wouldn’t have seen the light of day, alternative lyrics, different arrangement styles – it’s like Achtung Baby out of focus.”
Along with the separate reissues, there will be a deluxe set featuring both albums and an accompanying U2 app for the iPad.
In the meantime, don’t forget that the whole of the band’s historic Glastonbury headliner will be going out live on Friday night on Setanta Ireland. Enjoy!
