Track of the Day: Portlaoise musician Chris Conroy shares second single 'Sink or Swim'
Discovering a love for guitar and songwriting in his late teens, Conroy's life experiences have undeniably shaped how his music sounds today.
Following on from his debut single 'Dive', Laois native Chris Conroy has shared his second single 'Sink Or Swim' - a powerful track expressing the conflict between chasing your ambitions and staying comfortable in your surroundings.
'Sink or Swim talks about the uncertainty in moving forward whilst trying to hold onto the past, while showcasing Conroy's impressive vocal intonations.
Growing up listening to folk and pop singer-songwriters along the lines of Ed Sheeran, Damien Rice and Bon Iver; Chris now draws inspiration from numerous hip-hop and R&B artists.
The infusion of acoustic-led music with various genre blends works in harmony to create Conroy's exciting sound, and his trademark gravelly vocal range draws comparisons with Rag'n'Bone Man and Tom Grennan.
