Top Irish crafts makers for Bernard Shaw Backyard
The Jameson Black Barrel Craft Market takes place later this month.
November 27 – 29 sees the inaugural Jameson Black Barrel Craft Market descend on the Bernard Shaw Backyard in Dublin 2.
A collaborative project between Jameson, Bodytonic, and the emerging talents of the Irish craft community, this free three-day market will feature a variety of specially selected designers and craftspeople, renowned for pushing the boundaries of craftsmanship. Craft makers such as Garvan De Bruir, Hen’s Teeth Prints,[link]Slated.ie[/link], Mamukko, Bonagrew, Hazel House, Grand Grand, Liadain Aiken and Bryans Master Cobblers will be showcasing their crafts at the fully covered market. Jameson Master Cooper Ger Buckley (pictured) will also be doing live demonstrations throughout the weekend.
The Bernard Shaw Backyard will be completely transformed for the event, which will feature a full schedule of not only demonstrations but music acts, barber shop services and whiskey tastings throughout the weekend.
Winner of Gold medal for best blended Irish whiskey under €60 at the recent Irish Whiskey Awards; Jameson Black Barrel is made from a blend of rich pot still and a small batch grain whiskey that is uniquely matured in hand-crafted flamed charred black barrels for a rich smooth taste. Years of experience and craft go into the creation of Jameson Black Barrel. This special whiskey is synonymous with craftsmanship and for the past three years has been giving a national platform to Irish craft makers at the Jameson Black Barrel Craft Series events.
“The Jameson Black Barrel Craft Market is as much a celebration of Irish craft as a showcase of some of Ireland's finest emerging crafts people whose thoughtful work and passion for their craft is shared with Jameson”, commented Ger Buckley, 5th Generation Jameson Master Cooper, who skillfully double chars each barrel to specification in the making of Jameson Black Barrel. He added ‘the products that emerged from the Jameson Black Barrel Craft Series events were visually outstanding and testament to Ireland’s thriving craft culture. Continuing to nurture and support Irish crafts makers, The Jameson Black Barrel Craft Market gives them national exposure and a platform to showcase their crafts."
