Thin Lizzy and Fionn Regan to be celebrated on UK's National Album Day

Exclusive limited editions of Fionn Regan's The End of History and Thin Lizzy's Nightlife will be released for UK National Album Day on October 17. This year's theme is 'Icons', with reissues of classics and recent releases on the list.

The End of History was folk singer Regan's debut album. It was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2007 and has been labeled Best Irish Album of 2006.

Nightlife, released in 1974, has been called Thin Lizzy's most smooth, soulful record, regarded as somewhat out of sync with the rest of their discography. It includes the popular single 'It's Only Money'.

The 2026 Album Champions are Melanie C (a.k.a. Sporty Spice), BRIT Award winner and Grammy nominee PinkPantheress and Oscar-nominated composer Max Richter.

"There’s something magical about the artwork and owning an album you can actually hold in your hands", said Melanie C.

"Music has always been such a huge part of my life, so I’m really proud to become a National Album Day Album Champion and celebrate the magic of the album format."

National Album Day is organised by the BPI, a music industry trade association, together with ERA, the Entertainment Retailers Association.
