The Would Be's return with brand new album
And a launch gig to boot...
The back together Would Be’s have confirmed the October 4 release through FIFA Records of Beautiful Mess. The album gets the official launch treatment exactly a week later when the Cavan troupe play the Dublin Academy 2.
For the benefit of the non-grizzled people reading this – god, how we covet your youth! – the band seemed to be destined for great things in the 1990s when John Peel and Morrissey were among their cheerleaders.
Alas, it never quite happened with the band calling it a day when the flurry of major label interest suddenly evaporated.Doing it this time round for love rather than potential money, they still pen a mean off-kilter pop tune.
