The Waterboys release politically-charged single 'Don't Even Have to Say His Name'
You can listen to the new track below.
After sharing details of their new album, Atlantic Rain last month, The Waterboys have released the politically-charged single, ‘Don’t Even Have to Say His Name’.
Written by frontman Mike Scott, the song provides commentary on the current political situation in the United States.
"I hate bullies, and this song reflects my feelings about the political leadership of a country I love,” Scott explains.
“I've been inspired by American music and culture my whole life and believe the decency of the USA will be intact when this debased government is long gone, but only if people both there and around the world question and protest.
“This song is part of our small contribution to that process. May it serve its purpose."
Following the release of Atlantic Rain on July 17, the Waterboys will take to the stage at the 3Arena on September 5.
Consisting of 25 tracks of undiscovered music made during the 1986-88 Fisherman's Blues era, Atlantic Rain is a 3-disc album, available both on vinyl and CD.
