The 30th edition promises something to be something special.
A big anniversary for the Vibe For Philo after Christmas, as organisers mark 30 years of the live celebration of all things Phil Lynott.
Rising to the occasion, 'The Sun Goes Down – 30th Vibe For Philo' will see Thin Lizzy founder Eric Bell make his welcome return to the event. Not seen since 2011, The Eric Bell Trio-1 will be drawing heavily on material from the Vagabonds period and this is a rare opportunity to hear that material played live by one of its innovative creators.
Two key players from Philo's first solo album and the Phil Lynott Soul Band, Gus Isidore and Jerome Rimson, will also be performing as The Soul Brothers: (Solo In Dublin).
Johnny "The Fox" Conlon will team up with Sweet Savage guitarist Ian "Speedo" Wilson to open the event.
Coming slightly left-of-field are Mongoose, an all-female quartet specialising in "Jolk" (jazz/folk) – they do a mean cover of 'Old Town'.
Anchoring the middle of the show will be The Low Riders, while the popular Live And Dangerous slot returns to the capable hands of Dutch rockers Parris.
It all goes down on January 4 in The Vibe's spiritual home of Vicar Street. Expect more exciting announcements in the coming couple of months. Tickets are priced at €40 and are on sale now through usual outlets.
