UNEASY LISTENING FROM MOJO FURY ALTER EGO
Northern Ireland's Clown Parlour is the spawn of Mojo Fury creator Michael Mormecha. His debut album has a darkly sensitive, experimental edge. 'She Wants It' set the scene with jagged piano and sweeping synth. 'Everyday' is a doomy plodder that nicely gets under your skin; 'Vicious Delicious' moves from trippy intro to Prince style falsetto vocal. Elsewhere, 'The Snake Wears Boots' has a Lennonesque feel with a great “kiss me, kiss me” chorus and the martial drumming to 'Stanley Kubrick' takes it into a very different place. A hidden track of random, backwards and forwards doodlings brings it all back home with a smart flourish
