The Stunning to celebrate 30th anniversary at the Olympia
Galway legends The Stunning are celebrating their 30th birthday this year with a headline show at the Olympia.
The quintet hit the Olympia this October 6, with the news coming just after the band released their first new material in 24 years with new single ‘Brighten Up My Life,’ which you can hear below:
Steve Wall, Joe Wall, Jim Higgins, Derek Murray and Cormac Dunne formed The Stunning in Galway in 1987. They disbanded for nearly ten years when Steve and Joe formed The Walls in 1994.
They’re putting the finishing touches to a re-recorded version of their second album Once Around the World. It hit the number one spot in 1992 and included the hit singles ‘Everything that Rises’; ‘Heads are Gonna Roll’; ‘Mr. Ginger’ and ‘She’s on my Mind’. “We always felt that the original album hadn’t done the songs justice,” the band said in a statement. It’s been renamed ‘Twice Around the World and will include the new single ‘Brighten up my Life’ as a bonus track.
Tickets for the Olympia show are priced from €29 inlcuding fees and go on sale tomorrow Saturday 20 May via Ticketmaster.ie and other outlets.
