Irish artists Aaron Rowe, Bleech 9:3, and mischa and the bear to perform at Eurosonic 2027

Three Irish artists - Aaron Rowe, Bleech 9:3, and mischa and the bear - are among the 42 musical acts whose participation in Eurosonic has been confirmed so far. The event, which is Europe's leading music showcase festival, will take place from January 13 to 16, 2027, in Groningen, Netherlands.

Aaron Rowe is a folk singer from Dublin. He played at Electric Picnic this year, the latest highlight in his rapid rise to fame from gigging at pubs.

Bleech 9:3 are a Dublin-made, London-based alt-grunge band named after bleach and a Bible verse.

mischa and the bear are an alternative pop duo, comprising producer Mischa and vocalist Bear, who mix synth-pop and witch-house to create their own version of indie sleaze.

All three are emerging artists; platforming fresh faces is a main goal of ESNS. The festival has been taking place since 1986 and claims to have helped launch the careers of Hozier, Fontaines D.C., Kingfishr and many more. Awards like the Music Moves Europe Talent Awards, the European Festival Awards, and the Buma Cultuur Pop Award (or Popprijs in Dutch) are presented during the event.

Out of nearly 6,000 applicants this year, the 42 selected Eurosonic participants were nominated by 28 European Broadcasting Union (EBU) member radio stations in 31 different nations. More participants will be announced tomorrow for Noorderslag, the fourth day of the festival, which is focused on Dutch talent.

“From a record number of applications to an incredibly diverse and high-quality selection, this first wave is a great reflection of Europe’s music scene. We are delighted to make this selection together with 28 EBU radio stations from across Europe and excited to bring these artists to ESNS 2027”, said Oskar Stajn, Head of Music at Eurosonic Noorderslag.
