Eurosonic announces 18 Irish acts for 2027 festival
The festival will run from January 13 to 15, 2027 in Groningen, the Netherlands.
Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) have announced 18 Irish acts will be performing at Eurosonic 2027.
The Irish artists that have been announced so far include Aaron Rowe; BABYRAT; Black Nylon; Bleech 9:3; Bradley Marshall; BROOKI; Dave Lofts; Esmeralda Road; F3miii; GAG REFLEX; Hotgirl; McGrath; mischa and the bear; MOIO; pôt-pot; Shamrock Showband; Sei Green; Sell Everything; THEATRE; The Wran and Therapy Horse.
Each year, the event aims to uplift rising musical talent from a different European country. The 2027 edition will put Ireland in the spotlight.
ESNS takes place in Groningen, the Netherlands, and will run from January 13 to 15, 2027.
Angela Dorgan, CEO of Irish music organisation, First Music Contact commented on the festival.
"We are delighted to see the wide variety of genres and exceptional Irish talent reflected in the line-up at Eurosonic 2027.
"It is also exciting for us that ESNS selected so many artists from our showcase festival Ireland Music Week. This domestic to international showcase pipeline has been nurtured for many years."
RTÉ 2FM will also team up with ESNS to present the best new Irish acts at the Grand Theatre on Wednesday, January 13.
The event will be hosted by RTÉ 2FM broadcasters Dan Hegarty and Beta DaSilva. Performers for the evening include Aaron Rowe, F3miii, mischa and the bear, and THEATRE.
Other Irish artists will be playing at various venues around the city throughout the festival.
Robert Meijerink, Head of Bookings for ESNS, shared his excitement for Ireland.
"Irish music is coming home again at Eurosonic in Groningen.
"For a long time Ireland has been one of the strongest and most exciting music scenes of Europe. But now, more than ever before, Irish music blooms. We’re very excited and honoured to host the present and future of Irish music during the focus on Ireland at ESNS."
Other artists announced for Eurosonic 2027 include Gwenifer Raymond (Wales), MICHA (Netherlands), and panicbaby (Germany).
