Dermot Kennedy announces Cork and Belfast shows for summer 2027

Dermot Kennedy has announced shows at Cork's Virgin Media Park on June 23 and 24, 2027, plus Belfast Belsonic on June 26. The Cork shows will feature special guest Aaron Rowe.

These will be Kennedy's first shows with a full band in these cities in over five years.

This spring, he released his third album The Weight of the Woods, with the extended version released last month. Hot Press gave the album 8/10. Kennedy has spent the year touring Europe, including two sold-out 'warm, heartfelt and commanding' Aviva Stadium performances.

He is currently touring North America before heading to Australia and New Zealand in November.

“To me, the album is a beautiful homegrown thing with Irish instruments and an Irish story", Kennedy said of The Weight of the Woods.

"There’s a forest behind my house, which is a haven for my sense of wonder. It’s a peaceful place where I can escape. I’ve entertained the idea of living somewhere else, but I don’t think I’d be happy anywhere else.”

Kennedy's Without Fear was the best-selling debut album in Ireland of this millennium. He is also the first Irish solo artist ever to reach Number 1 in the UK with each of his first three studio albums.
