Gilbert O’Sullivan releases new single ‘It’s Me’

Gilbert O’Sullivan has released his new single ‘It’s Me’, the opening track from his upcoming 21st studio album On The Record due out November 6 via BMG.

The song, about supporting loved ones, was described by the musician as having “a sort of funky, Steely Dan feel to it, which I really like. There’s a nice chord sequence and a good middle eight – I’ve always liked middle eights that take you somewhere else and then bring you back again. I hope people like it!”

The release of On The Record coincides with a major UK and Europe tour celebrating 60 years of music for O’Sullivan, including a stop in 3Arena, Dublin on October 10.

The album features thirteen songs including the new single 'It's Me', previous single 'Growing Old Disgracefully', as well as 'Is That You? ', a duet with Andrea Corr.

Born in Waterford and raised in England, O’Sullivan has gone on to enjoy a career that has spanned 55 years and Top 10 singles, with No. 1’s around the world. 1971’s ‘Alone Again (Naturally)’ topped the US charts for six weeks and earned him three Grammy nominations.

In 2024, he released a Songbook containing 12 newly recorded versions of tunes from throughout his career. It was recorded at an audience-free Lafayette in King’s Cross, London, and features long-time guitarist Bill Shanley as well as producers Andy Wright and Gavin Goldberg.
