The Prodigy pay tribute to late frontman Keith Flint at Dublin's IMMA
Keith Flint passed away in 2019, aged 49.
The Prodigy have paid tribute to their late frontman Keith Flint at Dublin's Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA).
The dance act consisting of Liam Howlett and Maxim, performed a live show on August 20.
Techno DJ Carl Cox and reggae DJ David Rodigan kicked off the night and are set to open all four shows, with Dublin as the first stop.
A light show set against the backdrop of 'Firestarter', displayed Flint rocking his iconic jumper and hairstyle, honouring his legacy.
Flint passed away in 2019, aged 49 at his home in Essex. The band cancelled all gigs and tours following his death.
After his passing, fans started the hashtag #Firestarter4Number1 on social media. The campaign to get the song to No. 1 in the UK raised awareness for male suicide and was a mark of respect for Flint.
The electronic band first formed in the '90s, emerging during the underground rave scene. Their debut singles 'Charly' and 'Everybody in the Place' charted in the top five on the UK Singles Chart.
Flint moved from being a dancer for the group to being its frontman in 1996, after singing on two UK No. 1 singles 'Firestarter' and 'Breathe'. They are considered to be the pioneers of big beat, making history as the first dance band to headline Glastonbury in 1997.
Flint also had his own punk rock band named after himself, who only commercially released one single 'Aim4', as their debut album Device #1 was cancelled before its release.
