The Pale's Matthew Devereux releases new single 'Fancier' from his latest solo album Keep Sketch
Check out the new single below
Matthew Devereux has shared his latest single 'Fancier', from his most recent solo album Keep Sketch.
The single follows in the same poetic vein as much of Devereux's previous work, but takes on a new mellow and electronic feel. The musician mainly used electronic instruments on the record to "recount growing up on the northside of Dublin."
"This song is a love song to the humble pigeon, a nod to the passion of the fancier and a recognition of the deep connection between us and nature" said Devereux.
Keep Sketch features ten new songs written, performed and produced by the artist and follows his first solo album House Devil that was released last year.
The North Dublin musician is best known as the frontman of Irish 90s cult band The Pale and their album Heres One We Made Earlier, which included tracks like 'Butterfly' and 'Dogs With No Tails.'
'Fancier' is accompanied by a music video directed by Nicky Larkin, who recently premiered his short film Punt at the Galway Film Festival. The video is notably shot across the many rooftops of Dublin City.
