The new Slim Shady?
Paul Simon's son Harper and his band Menlo Park - whose live show features bare-knuckle boxing and roasting pigs on spits - to play the Smithwicks Source Festival in late July
The Smithwicks Source Festival promises to be a family affair with the band featuring Paul Simon's son Harper, Menlo Park, the latest addition to the Nowlan Park bill.
Described recently as "Willie Nelson meets Dr Dre", their stage show has been known to incorporate chickens, a roasting pig on a spit, arm-wrestling transvestites and bare knuckle boxers. The music's just as manic with song titles like 'Paraplegic Dancer' and 'Wave Goodbye Whore'.
Also Kilkenny-bound on July 27 are, natch, Mr. Simon Snr, Fun Lovin' Criminals, Blind Boys Of Alabama, Kila, John Spillane and local heroes The ENS who receive €1,500 as winners of the Smithwick's Source A Star competition.
