The multi-talented Marty Willson Piper to play Whelans
Singer, song-writer, music curator, Piper will make his Irish solo debut accompanied by Matt Purcell Wednesday July 27.
A man of considerable talents, Piper has had a versatile career.
He has written songs with talents such as Charlie Sexton (Bob Dylan's guitarist) and Grace Slick from the psychedelic '60s band Jefferson Airplane.
As a guitarist he has delved into punk rock and gothic in his collaborations with alternative bands The Church and All About Eve.
And as if that wasn't enough, he is the proud creator of the popular In Deep Music Archive website, which has been described as one of the world's largest and personal record collections; a treasure trove of musical history.
Fans can look forward to a retrospective of his solo work, as well as popular songs from past collaborations and hits from his recent tour Acres of Space.
Tickets can be found online for €15 from Wav tickets or Lo-Call 1890 200 078
