The Kooks head Ireland's way
The Kooks pay their first headlining visit to Ireland in May.
They'll be playing shows in the Spring & Airbrake, Belfast (May 1) and The Village, Dublin (2).
Named as any self-respecting David Bowie fan will know after a Hunky Dory album track, the Brighton quartet are fronted by Luke Pritchard who’s already sick to death of being quizzed about his old flame Katie Melua.
“I’m not into dropping names and I’ve taken plenty of shit for it already,” he winces. “I’ve heard people say: ‘You only got a record deal because of your girlfriend’. That’s pathetic. She’s a lovely person and really cool, but that’s all I’m going to say.”
A quick listen to The Kooks’ debut Inside In/Inside Out album confirms that their ‘buzz band’ status is entirely merited.
