The Joinery set to close its doors
Dublin art space to shut after seven years
Sad news reached Hot Press today, with the announcement that independent Dublin art space The Joinery is to close in December.
Having programmed more than 400 visual art and music events over its seven year existence, the Stonybatter space had earned a reputation as being a valuable launchpad for emerging artists and experimental musicians.
A statement from director Miranda Driscoll pointed to an absence of a permanent funding structure as the reason behind the closure, saying that the team has "decided to leave on our own terms".
