The Jimmy Cake to play the Spiegeltent
The Jimmy Cake have been enlisted to perform in the Belgian Mirror Tent as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival
Currently ensconced in the studio working on the follow-up to 2003's Superlady, Dublin post-rock heroes The Jimmy Cake are to briefly emerge from seclusion to appear at the Spiegeltent in George's Dock on October 7, as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival.
The Cake maintained that their self-imposed exile from the live circuit would only be compromised if they were asked to perform in a Belgian Mirror Tent that once played host to Marlene Dietrich. Fortunately for fans of epic instrumental music everywhere, the band's stipulations were met and they are now among the most eagerly awaited musical treats on offer during this year's festival.
With snippets from the forthcoming album to be premiered for those who make the journey – not to mention rumours of brass band accompaniment on the night - this gig promises to be a cracker.
