The Horrible Crowes - Live At The Troubadour
AIN’T NOTHIN’ HORRIBLE ABOUT THIS, FOLKS
Formed by Gaslight Anthem singer/guitarist Brian Fallon and the band’s roadie Ian Perkins as a vehicle to try a little tenderness away from their day job, The Horrible Crowes released a swoon-some soul and folk-infused debut album named Elsie in 2011 – and, much to the chagrin of this reviewer, pretty much disappeared afterwards. Live At The Troubadour slightly re-addresses that absence though and the 14-track CD/DVD collection will soothe those of you who have been aching to hear those heart-breaking, baby-making songs once more.
Recorded on September 14, 2011 in LA, their second and last show to date beautifully captures the Crowes in full flight and the likes of the sweet ‘Sugar’ and the bruised ‘Cherry Blossoms’ all bloom in a live setting. Highly recommended.
Key Track: 'Cherry Blossoms'
