The Coronas announce 3Olympia Christmas shows
Tickets go on sale Thursday at 9 am.
Irish rock band The Coronas have announced they will play two Christmas shows at Dublin’s 3Olympia on December 11 and 12.
The new dates come following the announcement of a special sold-out run of intimate shows.
The Irish tour will see them play in Derry, Ennis, Sligo, Athlone, Kerry and Meath through September and October.
Last December, the band also played a six night run at 3Olympia.
“Myself, Knoxy and Conor feel genuinely blessed to be able to plan these special Coronas shows every Christimas,” lead singer Danny O’Reilly said. “There’s always so much love and magic in the air at these gigs – it’s a pleasure and a privilege to be part of people’s tradition and Christmas schedule.”
The Coronas have released eight studio albums since their inception in 2003. Their debut album, Heroes or Ghosts was released in 2007, followed by Tony was an Ex-Con in 2009 which reached No. 3 on the Irish Album chart and No. 1 on the indie chart.
Their latest three albums, True Love Waits, released in 2020, Time Stopped, in 2022, and Thoughts & Observations, in 2024, all hit No. 1 on the Irish charts.
The group formed in Dublin when college friends O’Reilly, bassist Graham Knox and drummer Conor Egan initially performed as Kiros before changing their name to Corona, and later The Coronas. They began playing the Dublin college and live local music scene.
The lineup was finalised when lead guitarist Dave McPhillips joined in 2006.
Tickets for their Christmas shows go on sale Thursday at 9 am here.
