The Chakras, Planet Parade & Funeral Suits announce Whelan's date
Tickets on sale tomorrow, Thursday 21 January for this special showcase gig on Monday 22 February
The Chakras arrived onto the music scene with their critically acclaimed EP Build Me A Swan. 2009 saw them embark on their first headline tour of Ireland, and also perform at Oxegen. They are currently getting ready to release their debut album.
Kildare three piece Planet Parade last year released their debut EP Ghosts To People, and spent the latter part of 2009 gigging as much as possible, including shows with Wild Beasts and opening for Bell X1 at the Olympia Theatre. At present they're putting the finishing touches to EP number 2.
Funeral Suits released their Eye Spy EP in May 2009. They have recently gone into the studio to record with Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths). In the past year, the band have played shows with Franz Ferdinand, Passion Pit, The Breeders, Manchester Orchestra and Local Natives and have also racked up a host of well-received headliners in between.
Tickets for this one off showcase at Whelan’s are priced €12 inclusive of booking fee and on sale from tomorrow, Thursday 21 January.
