Meath rockers The Bogey Boys have reformed, and will play a series of dates this month, including two shows in their hometown of Navan, for the first time in 30 years.

The three-piece consists of brothers Jimmy and Tony Smyth, and Donal 'Doish' Nagle. Jimmy is a renowned guitarist, who featured on the cover of Hot Press back in 1980! Not only that, but U2 were the opening act for The Bogey Boys at their Cork Opera House gig in the same year.

During the '80s, the Bogeys were known as an exciting live act, regularly performing in venues like the Baggot Inn, the Sportsman’s Inn and the Top Hat, Dún Laoghaire. They also played at several major festivals alongside the likes of Dr. Feelgood, Wilko Johnson, Rory Gallagher, The Undertones, The Kinks, Madness and Status Quo.

They recorded their debut album Friday Night in Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin, and had top ten hits with 'Death Of A Clown', 'No Rock And Roll Tonight' and 'Obituary'.

Catch The Bogey Boys live this month when they play the Ardboyne Hotel, Navan (May 4), the Slaughtered Lamb, Swords (5), Stillorgan Orchard (12) and Tara Na Rí, Navan (26).
