The Altered Hours release new single ‘Turn Away’ and new release date for upcoming album
Their self-titled third album will be out on November 7 via Pizza Pizza Records.
Irish alt-rock / shoegaze outfit The Altered Hours return with their new single ‘Turn Away’, out today via Pizza Pizza Records.
It offers a glimpse into their upcoming self-titled third record, which will now arrive slightly later than planned on November 7, following a short production delay.
"We're sorry to say that due to some production delays with getting everything finished,” the band said, “we're going to have to push the album release back to November 7. We really appreciate everyone who has pre-ordered already and can't wait to share it with you."
Check out ‘Turn Away' below:
"For me, this track really captures a lot about what we're aiming for with this record sonically," says vocalist/guitarist Cathal MacGabhann on the new single. "We wanted the vocals to really pop out - to be honest with the listener and not hide any personality. We did this track in two takes and just really leaned into trusting who we are as a band."
Following previous single ‘Lay There With You’, this new track showcases the band’s evolving sound, balancing shoegaze atmospheres with garage-rock heaviness.
Since forming in 2010, The Altered Hours have shared stages with The Brian Jonestown Massacre, and joined Fontaines D.C.’s their European and UK tours, including stops at The Bataclan, Paradiso, and Alexandra Palace. Guitarist Cathal Mac Gabhann has also stepped in as live guitarist for Fontaines D.C., touring with the band across Japan and Australia.
The Altered Hours is available for pre-order here.
