Texas to mark 30th anniversary of White on Blonde with Irish arena dates and new single

Texas are marking the 30th anniversary of White on Blonde with an EU and UK arena tour and have released their new single 'Another Way To Cry.'

The Scottish band will perform their fourth album in full and have announced shows at The O2 in Belfast on October 18 and 3Arena in Dublin on October 19, 2027.

They will then head to the mainland for performances from November 2 to 11, spanning Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Lausanne, Lyon and Madrid.

"It didn't feel risky because no one at our label gave a shit," said Sharleen Spiteri on the album. "We were in Glasgow, we made the album in my house, and I did all the vocals in the coat cupboard. We had nothing to lose, and anyway, I didn't want to fit in.

"If everybody's doing something, I'm always running in the opposite direction, and that's always been the attitude - whether it's walking on stage at Glastonbury, or with White On Blonde. It's always been us saying: We will play our own tune. If you want to jump on, great. If you hate us, fine. But this is what we want to do."

The album will also be reissued for its 30th anniversary edition on February 5 2027, with the band sharing a new single, 'Another Way To Cry.'

The single arrives alongside a video directed by Niall Trask and filmed in the Scottish Highlands, starring Spiteri alongside friend and actor Robert Carlyle. The video pays tribute to the film Paris, Texas, which inspired the band's name.

"It's a really good test for a new song if you play it up against the big hits; it'll either sit up to them, or it fucking dies," said Spiteri. "Another Way To Cry,' you could put it in the setlist tomorrow with all the hits, and it'll stand its ground."

Tickets go on sale here, October 30 at 10 am.
