Taylor Swift teases new track 'Carolina' in trailer for Where The Crawdads Sing
The new Taylor Swift track was produced alongside frequent collaborator Aaron Dessner.
The first look at the highly anticipated film adaptation of Delia Owens' Where The Crawdads Sing was shared today (March 22), with a surprise Taylor Swift track in tow. The song, titled 'Carolina', is the first all-new material from Swift since her landmark 2020 LP, Evermore.
The song was produced alongside Swift's frequent collaborator The National's Aaron Dessner. Check out the new haunting track in the trailer below.
Set in the deep south between 1952 and 1969, Where the Crawdads Sing follows a young woman named Kya (Normal People's Daisy Edgar-Jones), who finds herself as the number one suspect in the murder of a man she was once involved with. Playing opposite Edgar-Jones is John Taylor Smith, Harris Dickinson, Michael Hyatt, Sterling Macer Jr., David Strathairn.
The novel was was adapted for the screen by Lucy Alibar and was directed by Olivia Newman. The film is slated for wide theatrical release on July 15.
Since her last major release, Swift has turned her attention to re-releasing her back catalogue, which has produced "Taylor's Version" editions of her albums Fearless and Red. Swift was last heard on a remixed duet of Ed Sheeran's 'The Joker and the Queen'. The pair has previously collaborated on a number of tracks, including the 2021 single 'Run'.
