Taylor Swift knocks Hozier off the top of the chart
Wicklow sensation's lengthy reign ends as Queen of Pop takes over...
It's all change at the top of the Irish Album Chart this week as Taylor Swift swoops in with the impossibly catchy collection of pop stomps that is 1989, snatching the coveted #1 spot out from the mighty Hozier, whose hypnotic self-titled debut falls one place to #2. Can Swift continue to 'shake off' the competition? Time will tell...
That exchange sees both Ed Sheeran and current Hot Press cover stars U2 drop one spot each with X and Songs of Innocence, respectively. Elsewhere, Sam Smith's In The Lonely Hour climbs into the top five while Ella Henderson's Chapter One moves up to sixth. The 3 Arena-bound Slipknot take 7th this week with impressive comeback effort .5: The Gray Chapter while The Script - set to rock Croke Park next summer -, Ben Howard and George Ezra round out the top 10.
