SZA officially releases new hit track 'I Hate U'
Previously a SoundCloud exclusive, the track is now widely available to fans.
In August, SZA released three new tracks— 'I Hate You', 'Joni', and 'Nightbird'— on an anonymous SoundCloud account. Today, the track 'I Hate U' has officially been released after its increased popularity on social platform TikTok.
This year, SZA has appeared on Doja Cat's song of the summer, 'Kiss Me More', as well as contributing to new songs from James Blake, Isiah Rashad, Summer Walker, and more. She released 'Hit Different' with Ty Dolla $ign last September, her first single as a lead artist since 2017's Ctrl. She followed it with the B-side 'Good Days' at the end of the year, and released a video of the track in March.
She also released a cover of 'The Anonymous Ones' for the Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack this October.
Details on a follow-up to her 2017 album remain unconfirmed at this time, with SZA previously expressing her frustration with the long wait between records.
