Sunny Day Real Estate to make Irish debut at The Grand Social
Sunny Day Real Estate are also currently touring as a supporting act for Jimmy Eat World's tour.
American rock band Sunny Day Real Estate are set to make their Irish debut at The Grand Social in Dublin on August 6.
Formed in 1992 and originally a four-piece band, Sunny Day Real Estate consisted of Jeremy Enigk, Dan Hoerner, William Goldsmith and Foo Fighters' bassist Nate Mendel. They released their debut album, Diary, in 1994 and sophomore album, LP2, in 1995 after their first breakup.
The band reunited in 1998, not including Mendel, but disbanded again in 2000. In 2009, they reunited as a four-piece, Mendel rejoining the group, to tour and perform Coachella and their first-ever European shows.
In 2022, members Greg Suran and Chris Jordan joined the group and they toured North America.
They dropped their first new music in a decade in 2024 with album Novum Vetus. That same year, the group celebrated the 30th anniversary of Diary by releasing a pearlescent vinyl edition of the remastered double LP.
Sunny Day Real Estate are currently touring as a supporting act for Jimmy Eat World's "Bleed American" 25th anniversary tour. The band also recently supported My Chemical Romance at Wembley Stadium.
