Summer of Music: Pa Sheehy – "A piece of my heart will stay dormant until we’re allowed back on stages in front of those who love us"
With the combination of the Live Performance Support Scheme and the success of the Government's test gigs at the Iveagh Gardens and the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, we are on the verge of a huge explosion of music activity. As part of our Summer of Music 2021 special feature, we spoke to some of the artists preparing to return to the stage...
Pa Sheehy
“I’m smiling thinking about returning to live music. A piece of my heart will stay dormant until we’re allowed back on stages in front of those who love us.
I think it’ll be more exciting for artists and fans post-Covid. I think the artists and audience members will give more energy to each other than ever. I can only imagine it’s like being reunited with a loved one that you haven’t seen in a long time. There will be many special moments in venues all over the country and everyone is gonna want to be part of it. I just can’t wait to play and sing along with the crowd. I feel like a kid whose neighbour took his ball and I can’t play until the neighbour wakes up in a good mood.”
