Orla Gartland signs publishing deal with Reservoir Media
"The company’s ambitious indie spirit feels very much aligned with my own, so I’m really excited for us to work together over the coming years," says the Irish singer-songwriter
Fresh from her acclaimed work on the soundtrack for the Apple TV series Trying, Orla Gartland has signed a publishing deal with Reservoir Media.
The independent music company is based in New York, and has offices in London, Los Angeles, Nashville, Toronto, Abu Dhabi and Mumbai. Its roster includes the likes of Joni Mitchell, Kings Of Leon, David Guetta, Hans Zimmer, John Denver, Miles Davis, Rachel Chinouriri, Self Esteem, Sheryl Crow and more.
The deal follows Gartland's Ivor Novello win last year, in the Best Song Musically and Lyrically category, for 'Mine', taken from her latest album, Everybody Needs A Hero. The award has previously gone to classics like The Beatles’ ‘She’s Leaving Home’, Kate Bush’s ‘Wuthering Heights’, Pulp’s ‘Common People’, The Waterboys’ ‘The Whole Of The Moon’, and Hozier’s ‘Take Me To Church’.
“How lucky am I to be signing with such a stellar team of hard-working, music-loving people?!" Gartland says of joining Reservoir's publishing roster. "I feel truly seen by the Reservoir team as an artist and songwriter. The company’s ambitious indie spirit feels very much aligned with my own, so I’m really excited for us to work together over the coming years.”
Charlie Pinder, the UK Head of Creative at Reservoir Media, has described the Dublin-born, London-based artist as "one of the most distinctive songwriters and artists working in the UK today" – noting that Reservoir are "thrilled to be her new publishing home as she moves into this next chapter".
