Suede Release New Music Video
‘Life is Golden’ comes from their forthcoming album, The Blue Hour.
The Blue Hour is the eighth studio album from the group, and is released September 21st.
The optimistic lyrics of the song clash jarringly with the post-apocalyptic images shown in the video.
Mike Christie, the director of the video, explains: “It’s not about the tragedy of the disaster that happened all those years ago – it’s about the unstoppable force of life that’s consumed the desolate landscape left behind by humans. It seemed wonderfully apt to set the song to cracked concrete, all conquered by towering golden trees.”
The video was filmed in Pripyat, the Ukrainian town that was abandoned after the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986.
Suede play the Bord Gais Energy Theatre on October 14th.
