SPRINTS debut at No.1 on Independent Irish Albums Chart with Letter To Self
The Dublin band have also entered the Official Irish Albums Chart at No.11
Following the release of their lauded debut album Letter To Self via City Slang last Friday, SPRINTS have soared straight to No.1 on the Independent Irish Albums Chart this week.
The album has garnered rave reviews from multiple international outlets since its release – and has also debuted at No.11 on the Official Irish Albums Chart.
They lead the way on the Independent Irish Albums Chart ahead of Arctic Monkeys' AM (No.2); Adele's 25 (No.3) and 21 (No.4) and Frank Ocean's Blonde.
The achievement follows SPRINTS' sold-out surprise album launch last night at the intimate Upstair at Whelan's venue. Read our live report here.
The Dublin band once again teamed up with producer Daniel Fox of Gilla Band for the project, capturing their raw gig energy by tracking everything live.
Stay tuned for an interview with the band – and a review of the chart-topping album – in the upcoming issue of Hot Press, out later this month.
Noah Kahan's Stick Season once again topped the Official Irish Albums Chart this week, in its 34th week on the chart. It's followed by Taylor Swift's 1989 (Taylor's Version) at No.2, Olivia Rodrigo's Guts at No.3, Fleetwood Mac's 50 Years: Don't Stop at No.4, and ABBA's Gold: Greatest Hits at No.5.
