Songs For Drunks And Losers
Tracks from the Liffey Delta
Baker plies his trade in a quality folk vein with light tinges of jazz and blues. This album is evocative of the Dublin he (mostly) loves. To a batch of finely-honed songs he’s added his own eloquent vocal, guitar and ukulele. ‘Lonestar’ has him at his most wistful; ‘Not The Type’, ‘In Drunken Company’ and ‘Name Your Poison’ are beautifully moody. All in all, there’s a sense of reality about Baker and his work that is rare these times.
KEY TRACK: ‘LONESTAR’
