Snow Patrol to play London festival headliner
Complete workaholics that they've unexpectedly turned into, Snow Patrol have announced yet another al fresco headliner on August 8 in London's Somerset House.
A Dublin Castle-style set-up next to the Thames, the 6,000-capacity venue will also be playing host to Air (4); Turin Brakes (5); Basement Jaxx (6); and Beverly Knight (7) as part of this year's Grolsch Set extravaganza.
Meanwhile, Patrol guitarist Nathan Connolly has been reflecting on the 500,000 unit-shifting success of their Final Straw album.
"It's been a bit of a surprise," he admits. "It was slow at the start, and we really weren't expecting too much. But it's nice because we put so much into the record. Not that we've had much time to think – we've been on tour since last August, and we'll be on the road until next February."
Finally, Snow Patrol fans with fuck off hi-fis will be delighted to hear that Final Straw receives its SACD Surround Sound release on August 17.
