DCC launches Luke Kelly bursary
Entries open this Friday April 17 and close on Sunday May 3 at midnight.
Dublin City Council have launched the Luke Kelly bursary in support of a new generation of Irish traditional folk artists.
The new initiative, named after the late Dublin folk musician, was developed as part of the upcoming Luke Kelly festival, which will return to Smithfield from May 23-24.
Submissions will be considered between two groups, under 30s and over 30s, with singers invited to submit a one-song video performance for consideration.
Each bursary will include €1,000, along with personal mentorship from folk artist George Murphy. Murphy's newest album with the Rising Sons, Something Out Of Nothing, was released this past October.
Entries for the Luke Kelly bursary open this Friday, April 17 and close on Sunday May 3 at midnight. Entries can be submitted here.
