Snow Patrol, The Swell Season & Lisa Hannigan pay tribute to John Martyn
They're all appearing on a new covers album.
There’s a strong Irish flavour to the new John Martyn tribute album, which is likely to emerge before Christmas.
Having either encountered or played with him while he was living in Ireland, Snow Patrol, Lisa Hannigan and The Swell Season weigh in respectively with covers of Martyn’s ‘May You Never’, ‘I Don’t Want To Know’ and ‘Couldn’t Love You More’.
Other artists signed up for the project include Beck, Robert Smith, Beth Orton, David Gray, Paolo Nutini, Devendra Banhart, Skye Edwards, Blind Boys Of Alabama and Foley.
There are also whispers that David Gilmoure, Eric Clapton and Phil Collins might also come on board.
