Lewis Capaldi returns with new single 'Survive' amid speculations of Glastonbury set
Fans are speculating that Capaldi's new single might coincide with a surprise at Glastonbury over the weekend
After two years away from the spotlight, Glasgow singer Lewis Capaldi has made a comeback with his new single 'Survive'. It tells the story of Capaldi's struggles with his physical and mental well-being since becoming a global star.
In 2023, the singer had to cut his performance at Glastonbury's Pyramid Stage short due to the strain touring had put on his mind and body. Following the festival, Capaldi cancelled all of his remaining tour dates, saying he would be "taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future," adding that he was "still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette’s."
Now, he has made a comeback with his single 'Survive', teaming up with Rømans, who co-wrote the 2019 hit ‘Someone You Loved’, which charted in over 29 countries and spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart.
The release follows rumours circulating online, hinting at a possible surprise set by the Scottish singer at Glastonbury, which kicked off on Wednesday, June 25.
A cryptically named 'TBA' slot at the Pyramid Stage of the festival on Friday at 4:55 p.m. prompted fans to believe that Capaldi might be returning to play a show. However, this has not yet been confirmed.
