The White Stripes release Get Behind Me Satan 20th anniversary vinyl
The band also released a new music video for one of the album's standout tracks
The White Stripes are marking the 20th anniversary of their Grammy Award-winning fifth studio album Get Behind Me Satan with a limited-edition vinyl release.
The anniversary 2LP edition will be released on July 11 via Third Man Records and features one red smoke vinyl and one clear vinyl with red and black smoke.
To coincide with the announcement, a new stop-motion video for the track 'Red Rain' also premiered today.
Directed by independent filmmaker Conor Callahan and executive produced by Audg Fenter, the video was constructed from nearly 6,000 miniature bricks and features Super7’s ReAction figures of Jack and Meg White. The project reportedly took around 80 hours to complete.
Originally released in 2005, Get Behind Me Satan saw the duo experimenting with a broader range of instruments beyond their signature guitar-and-drums setup, incorporating marimba, timpani, bells and mandolin.
The record included hit singles like 'Blue Orchid', 'My Doorbell' and 'The Denial Twist'. The album debuted in the top three in several countries and earned the band their second consecutive Grammy for Best Alternative Album.
This vinyl edition marks a rare physical release, as the album was not commercially available on vinyl until 2015.
The announcement follows recent news of the band’s upcoming induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025.
