Slipknot Lands Third No.1 Album on Billboard 200 Chart
Slipknot have long been considered giants of the metal world. Yet, the crushing success of their latest record shows that their fame is rising to even greater heights.
Very few metal band can boast of topping the famed Billboard 200 chart. We Are Not Your Kind is the first album from the 'hard rock' category to do so in nearly two years - the latest one to do so being Concrete and Gold from Foo Fighters, which was released in October 2017.
Nothing new for Slipknot though. It is the third time an album from the masked men lands atop the chart following 2014’s .5: The Gray Chapter and 2008’s All Hope Is Gone.
Their new album has also debuted No.1 on the UK Billboard, a tally which Slipknot did not achieve in eighteen years since 2001's Iowa. This goes to show just how revered the band has grown to become across the world.
As reported in Hot Press last week, We Are Not Your Kind also scored No.1 on the Irish Billboard, beating Ed Sheeran's No.6 Collaborations Project by 12 combined sales.
Some great news for the band members, following the tragic passing of a man who attended their Knotfest Roadshow's gig in Illinois last week.
Slipknot took to Twitter to thank their fans worlwide - famously referred to as Maggots - for helping them to reach these new milestones.

Despite a few line-up changes along the many years of their career - including the death of Gray and the departure of Joey Jordison, Slipknot definitely keep making history in their own genre.
