British alt-rock band Transvision Vamp have announced Dublin and Belfast shows, set to take place at The Academy on October 31, and Limelight 1 on November 1.
The band are going on tour in the UK and Ireland for the first time since 1991. They shared on Instagram that the set will contain of songs from all three of their albums, including never before performed Velveteen from 1989.
"Words cannot express the feelings I have to be touring Transvision Vamp again!" said band's front woman Wendy James.
"Joy! Thrill!! The band's history, which began in 1988, has passed through many eras! And yet, here we are, belting out the very songs which captured everyone's hearts all those years ago".
The band were formed in London in 1986 by James and Nick Christian Sayer. They signed to MCA Records and released their breakthrough debut album Pop Art in 1988, featuring singles such as 'I Want Your Love', 'Tell That Girl To Shut Up', and 'Revolution Baby'.
Following the dissolution of the group in 1991, James continued her musical journey as a solo artist. She released a total of seven albums, alongside collaborations with the likes of Elvis Costello, James Williamson of Iggy & The Stooges, Lenny Kaye of The Patti Smith Group, and more.
Transvision Vamp reunited for their Australian tour this February to celebrate the band's legacy. James and the group's original bassist Dave Parsons were joined by two new members, Alex Ward and James Sclavunos.
